The Carousell Works
Big Lake, MN
The Sherburne History Center hosts an annual fundraiser called the Fund Fest. This is a great evening and includes raffles, silent and live auctions, games, entertainment, great food, and more. This event is the History Center’s single biggest fundraiser for the year.
In 2007 we raised more than $29,000 including $4,000 in a special appeal to pay for a life-size faux ox for our ox cart kiosk that was finished in Spring 2008, and is now on display.
Money helps to support the many things that we do from educational programming for area schools to preserving our collection and our historic structures – the Fox House and the Bailey Station.
Fund fest crowd 220: A record number of people attended the 2007 Fund Fest
at the Carousell Works in Big Lake and enjoyed a terrific dinner provided by
A Catered Event.
Fund Fest Committee member Sandy Weicht sold beads for our Last Man Standing game that took place during the Live Auction. The winner received two Sun Country airline tickets to any destination in the continental United States as well as a kid's John Deere tractor.
One lucky person left the evening with a brand new kayak won at our Wheel of Fortune game.
