About the event
Dan Gruhlke is a retired Monticello teacher who has, since retirement, become a Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB) Teaching Artist having been recognized with a CMAB Individual Artist Award and Artist Career Development Grant amongst other recognitions. Join him Friday, September 5, 10:30-11:30am as he performs his Oral Story, “Oh, Say…” based on the life of Mary Amistead Bradford (buried in Big Lake Cemetery), eldest daughter of Col. George Armistead, defender of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812, and the flag that became the impetus for the U.S. National Anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner”.
